Day 86: Much Needed Recovery Day

Woke up relaxed and feeling like I had overslept. It was hot and sunny in my tent, but it was only 8am. It was gonna be another roaster of a day.

I got up and rinsed off in the stream. Tattoo and Scatters had already gone to breakfast and had come back. One Life was feeling a little better, but still not great. We all packed up, stopped by the post office (Roxanne, I'm not sure why they didn't have your postcard?! :(, and we were lucky enough to get a ride over to the Cabela's a few miles up the road in Hamburg.

We hung out in there for a while. We ate at the buffet, shopped around, charged my phone and hung out with the hiker crew. After a few hours, we headed over to the Microtel (courtesy of a ride from Sweet Tea's husband Gene - thanks!). We had decided to enjoy our zero day in the comfort and air conditioned joy of a hotel room. And it was a nice hotel room!

Tattoo, One Life, Scatters and I made ourselves at home in room 119, got laundry in, caught up on blogs, wrote postcards, and lived it up lazily. Mountain Tattoo, Klarity, and Dumpster Bear were at the hotel, too. And then we FINALLY reconnected with Xan and Neutron! They were a half day behind us and rolled into town sometime while we were in Cabela's. They came by the hotel and hung out and showered. They'd end up staying on the floor to make it a total of six in the room. Good to see them again!

Scatters and I took a trip to the gas station for ice cream and a small resupply, and later we went to Taco Bell with One Life. We really did not do much, which was EXACTLY what we all wanted and needed. We popped and treated blisters, watched a little tv, and relaxed. So good. Not sure what time we will get out of here tomorrow, but check-out isn't until noon... sooooo that's probably an indication of a late one.

I seriously don't remember the last time it rained!!!?!
